STREICHER Career

STREICHER Joins the STEM-Programme

STEM stands for sience, technology, engineering and mathematics. Within a funding programme, the federal government and states support numerous activities which shall inspire young people to start an education in these sectors after finishing school. STREICHER is part of the STEM region Lower Bavaria, which consists of the districts Deggendorf, Freyung-Grafenau, Rottal-Inn and Regen and provides many possibilities for young people.

Meanwhile, a funding programme has been introduced by the State of Bavaria - www.km.bayern.de/mint - which supports Bavarian regions in the organisation and implementation of measures and projects within the natural sciences and technical sector. Bavaria counts already 15 STEM regions which are connected by the STEM-network Bavaria. Like this, it can bring benefits from the experiences of others and thereby save time and money. Exchange of know-how takes place in personal meetings and webinars.

For example, the „researchers camp“ within the drilling technology sector for girls at the age of 15 – 18 years was a special project which STREICHER organised over the past years. However, the encouragement starts already at an early age – therefore STREICHER opened a so called „Technikhaus für Kinder“ at the headquarters in Deggendorf. This facility offers kids the possibilitiy to research, fiddle about and discover their technical skills.

Supporters are very welcome, from Lower Bavaria as well as from neighbouring regions. For more information please contact: info(at)mint-niederbayern.de
